"Who we are is revealed, ultimately, by the questions we ask, rather than the answers we find. What we want to know is a reflection of how we see the world and a verification that we are looking at it." ~Deena Metzger

"...we are only alive to the degree that we let ourselves be moved." ~Lewis Hyde

Time, planning the next step...

To all the time keepers of the world-
Hash marks on calenders
little pink pills from a blue pouch
solitary drips from the leaky sink
and progressions of green across fields
I salute you
you and your rhythm
of cycles, beginning and ending
comfort of predictability and repetition

Spent two hours trying to finalize plans for the apartment in Jackson today...starting to get frustrated- not quite in "freak out" mode, but well on my way.

Fortunately, I still have time.....November...December.....

Time too can stumble and have small accidents
tucked between the dainties of misery and spare cents
just need solitude of love to help you carry on
where the dust and the heat and the memories are so damn strong
it seems so long

Stuck between hopelessness and opposition
two approaches to life, how do you make that transition
we often wonder about the circularity of time
madness is surely the most lucid state of the human mind
forget the daily grind
